Module 3 due this weekend!

I am finishing giving feedback on journal entries for Module 2 this afternoon.

Please note that if you miss two entries in a row, your journal is placed in an inactive folder. If you restart you need to send me an email letting me know.

Module 3, due at the end of the week covers only two chapters, but the amount of work required to master it is about the same as the previous modules, so you should plan accordingly. This is also true of Module 4, which covers 4 chapters.

I will be commenting on journals and grading late tests from previous modules about midweek.

Thursday, September 22, 2016

I have read and provided feedback on all of the Module 1 journal entries. For those of you who signed up for a journal, but failed to do the first entry, you must let me know if you begin again. Otherwise your journal will remain in an inactive folder and I will not see your answers.

Several of you seem to be unaware that the journal questions cover additional supplemental material, which is under the Supplements column on the schedule page. You will not be able to write good journal entries without engaging these.

I will be providing some feedback on Module 1 journal entries over the course of this week. (There are about 125 people in the class, so this will take some time.)

Judging from the activity on SacCT, many of you waited until the deadline to start in earnest, and for those people the results were predictably not that great. That doesn't have to be a disaster, since you will be able to retake one module test at the end of the semester. However, we are now on a weekly schedule, and you will want to start becoming a lot more disciplined about your approach to the course material.

Good luck on Module 2!

Hi everyone, just a reminder that Module 1 test and journal entries are due Saturday and Sunday.

Now that everyone is getting started in earnest, some of you are asking me questions about the text, lecture or quiz and test questions. This is good, but all of these kinds of questions need to be posted to the Discussion Board link so that other students can see the answers as well.  If you ask me directly by email I will redirect you to the discussion board.

Hi everyone, all journals have now been shared and the link to the journal sign-up sheet has been removed. Contact me if you are having any trouble.

Please note that this weekend both the Module 1 test and journal entries are due.  Please see the schedule page for the exact times and dates of each.

Sunday is your last day to sign up for a journal.  I will make the final distribution of journal pages on Monday.

Please remember that if you have not passed the syllabus test by Monday morning, you will be administratively dropped from the class for non attendance. However, do not count on this process to drop the class if that is what you intend to do.  Making sure that you have been dropped from the class is up to you.

Hi folks, those of you who have signed up for your Journal since Friday, you should have it by tomorrow afternoon.

If you have missed any posts since this one, be sure to scroll down and read them all.

Hope you enjoyed your Labor Day.

As of now I have shared Google Doc Journals with everyone who has signed up for one, with the exception of some who gave me bad emails. I have notified these people at their Saclink email.

If you do not know how to use Google Drive, just watch one of the many tutorials on YouTube. If you do not see your document in your drive, click on Shared With Me in the sidebar. If you still do not see it, contact me. Be sure you are signed in with the gmail that you shared with me.
